Safari Day 3
Well today we were actually supposed to go straight to the airport to fly back to nairobi. along the way though – the call came in: a leopard in a tree! some people i’ve spoken to with who live here in kenya haven’t spotted a leopard in over ten years. one guy said that in his entire life living in kenya and visiting Masai Mara, he’s never seen one – would we actually spot one? we zipped over, over pot holes and hills, skipped seeing a lion feasting on a fresh kill and made it to where the leopard was – it wasn’t an adult yet, but was still really impressive as it climbed down from a tree and then hid away in the bush at the base. What an end to a trip! I’m a little bummed that I didn’t get to see a Rhino – but considering that there are less than 60 of the in the entire Mara, i wasn’t really expecting to. i guess i’ll have to visit African Lion Safari…
Anyway, we’re in Nairobi now – i like this city, but there are just way too many scary stories about people getting mugged and killed here. One day is more than enough i think…
