Book Review: Transmission by Hari Kunzru

By

made me laugh a lot – maybe it is because I have been to each of the cities described in the book and that I could get the humour about each of them. kinda like six-degrees of separation crossing continents and cultures – it’s about four characters that seem unconnected struggling to fulfill their dreams. From the American-dream aspiring Indian computer geek, to the ‘wife-beater’ wearing Bollywood star to the ultra-chic coke-snorting model, the stereotypes of each character fit perfectly – you can pick the characters in real life… but by switching the viewpoints, he makes you relate to the characters as well… – so you see what one character may see as an annoyance, seen as an quality from another character’s perspective. nice easy read
